Alicia Keys assists her husband Swizz Beatz in "International Party", a video for Reebok. The clip was directed by Chris Robinson & apparently cost waaay more than it looks like it did. As for the song, let's just say that Swizzy should stick to beats & stay FAR away from writing lyrics from now on.

The 2011 BET Awards Recap
Kelly Rowland & Trey Songz "Motivation (Remix)"
Beyonce - Medley
Mary J. Blige, Anita Baker, Jadakiss, & DJ Khaled - Medley
Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars, & Rick Ross - Medley
Kelly Rowland had her chance to shine last night at the 2011 BET Awards. Skip the first three minutes of Trey's foolishness in the above clip to get to Ms. Kelly WORKIN' IT! From Glastonbury, Beyonce also shined with "Best Thing I Never Had" & especially my personal favorite "End Of Time". Mary J. Blige brought out Anita Baker for her medley, which also included a promising new collaboration with Jadakiss & DJ Khaled. Alicia Keys sang her songs in A minor leftover-for-a-reason "Typewriter", was unfortunately joined by Bruno Mars for "A Woman's Worth", brought out Rick Ross for some godforsaken reason, & finished things off with "Fallin'". Nicki Minaj was on-hand to pick up the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist award & Dirty Money accepted Best Group. Meanwhile, Rihanna won (only) Best Female Artist & the Best Movie award went to "For Colored Girls". To view the other "winners," click HERE.

Alicia Keys & Maya Angelou Salute Oprah
Alicia Keys accompanied Maya Angelou on piano as she recited an original poem in honor of the woman of the hour as part of the final episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show before singing a few bars of her own "Superwoman". A very sweet moment indeed.

Rihanna leads the pack of nominees for this year's newly revived Billboard Music Awards with a whopping 18 nominations. Usher didn't do too shabby himself with 10 nods. Nicki Minaj & The Black-Eyed Peas each picked up four, while Monica & Alicia Keys scored a pair each as well. Set to perform are Rihanna & The Black-Eyed Peas. (Jennifer Lopez had been previously announced, but her name is curiously missing from the official Billboard releases at this time unfortunately.) To see a full list of nominees, click HERE & tune into the 2011 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 22nd, @ 8/7c on ABC. [Source]

Alicia Keys "Songs In A Minor (10th Anniversary Edition)" Details
On June 28th, Alicia Keys will be releasing 2-disc deluxe & 3-disc collector's versions of her debut album songs in A minor in honor of the 10th anniversary of its release. In addition to special packaging, both editions of the album will include the following six additional tracks: - A Woman's Worth (Remix ft. Nas)
- Juiciest (Mixtape Version)
- Fallin' ("Ali" Soundtrack Version)
- Typewriter
- If I Was Your Woman (Funky Demo)
- Butterflyz (The Drumline Mix)
Also included in the collector's edition will be an all-new documentary on the album featuring interviews with Alicia & her collaborators. The documentary sounds somewhat interesting, but not the $18 extra dollars they are charging on her website to pre-order it interesting! Luckily, they will be airing a *special* on songs in A minor around the time of release on BET. As for the extra music, I'm not really stan enough to care all that much myself, but it's a pretty neat package for those who do! Check out this video teaser if you're more of a visual learner:

Alicia Keys "HP" Commercial
Alicia Keys has secured herself an endorsement deal with HP, as can be seen in this new commercial she stars in that was aired during Sunday's Grammys. It's a neat ad. To be perfectly honest, I've considered investing in one of these Beats-enhanced computers, as they certainly hit the nail on the head when it comes to the main disadvantage of a laptop for me, but I have no idea whether HP makes quality products or not... Anyway, Alicia's latest album The Element Of Freedom is out now.

2011 Grammy Nominees Announced
The nominations for the 2011 Grammys have been announced & with Rihanna clutching six by riding Eminem's coattails, I'm less than impressed. Fantasia & Alicia Keys scored three, while Monica, Usher, Janelle Monae, & Beyonce nabbed two. All of the nominees can be seen HERE... seek & ye shall find several worthy artists who managed to receive a single nod. It seems like to me that a long time ago, the Grammys actually sought out the best & brightest in the music industry to award them, rather than just selling out & rewarding the most successful artists. -_- Congrats to Fantasia, Monica, & the like though! The 2011 Grammys air Sunday, February 13th, @ 8/7c on CBS.[Source]

Alicia Keys "Buy Life" World AIDS Day Campaign
Alicia Keys has digitally died to help raise money through Buy Life, a part of Keep A Child Alive, for World AIDS Day (December 1st). She has been joined by the likes of Usher, Janelle Monae, & Jennifer Hudson, all of whom have filmed their 'last tweet & testament' to raise awareness of the campaign, which you can watch by clicking their respective names. They won't tweet again (OH NO! lol) until $1 million is raised. It kinda rubs me the wrong way when celebrities who could shell out a milli like it's nothing want us poor working folk to pay up instead... but I suppose it's all for a good cause regardless. If you'd like to make a donation/buy their digital lives back, HERE is the place to do it.[Source]

The 2010 Soul Train Awards Recap
Jazmine Sullivan & Doug E. Fresh - Medley
Keyshia Cole Tributes Ron Isley
I haven't watched the 2010 Soul Train Awards yet, although I plan to via my DVR as soon as I have the time, but I can already tell you that the highlight of the evening was Jazmine Sullivan's medley of "10 Seconds" & "Holding You Down (Goin' In Circles)", which she brought out Doug E. Fresh (whom I believe she sampled on "Holding You Down") for. I could listen to her sing live all day! Another impressive vocal showing came from Keyshia Cole, who participated in a tribute to Ron Isley. (Note: I don't think the above video is the whole tribute--I stopped watching when Keyshia was done--but it's the only portion of it I could find in HQ anyway.) As for the winners, my favorite would have to be Ciara's "Ride" for Best Dance Performance! Other include Melanie Fiona for Best New Artist, Usher for Best Male R&B/Soul Artist (tied with Trey Songz...a mess) & Album Of The Year (Raymond Vs. Raymond), Rihanna & Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie" for Best Hip-Hop Song Of The Year, Alicia Keys for Best Female R&B/Soul Artist (shoulda been Monica or Fantasia...) & Record Of The Year for "Un-thinkable (I'm Ready)", & Janelle Monae, who won the Centric Award. View all the winners HERE.

Weird. I was under the impression that Beyonce didn't do much this past year, yet she leads the relevant nominees for the 2011 People's Choice Awards with four. Joining her are Usher, Carrie Underwood, & Rihanna with three each, while Pink & Alicia Keys nabbed a pair apiece. If you'd like, you can vote HERE for the 2011 People's Choice Awards, which will air January 5th on ABC with Queen Latifah returning as host.

Rihanna, Others Collaborate With Kanye West
For his forthcoming album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (November 22nd), Kanye West enlisted an all-star lineup for the track "All Of The Lights", which features Rihanna on the hook as well as Fergie, Alicia Keys, & more:Others at least supposedly featured on the song are Ryan Leslie, Elton John, John Legend, The-Dream, Tony Williams, Charlie Wilson, La Roux's Elly Jackson, & Kid Cudi. Everyone featured, Rihanna aside, was completely wasted.

2010 Soul Train Award Nominees Announced
Usher & new mom Alicia Keys have something (else) to celebrate because they lead the nominations for the 2010 Soul Train Awards with four each. Several worthy artists, including Nicki Minaj, Dondria, Monica, Fantasia, Rihanna, & Janelle Monae, earned a pair. Keyshia Cole as well as Janelle Monae will be performing at this year's event, which goes down on Sunday, November 28th @ 9/8c on BET. Check out the rest of the rather exciting nominees HERE.[Source]

2010 American Music Award Nominees Announced
Usher leads the pack of relevant nominees for the 2010 American Music Awards with three nods. Alicia Keys & Carrie Underwood nabbed a pair each, while Rihanna & The Black-Eyed Peas earned one apiece. In addition to his nominations, Usher, as well as Pink, will be performing at this year's festivities, which go down live on Sunday, November 21st @ 8/7c on ABC. Unfortunately, the AMAs have lost all credibility in recent years, but it should be a good show![Source, Source]
