Susan Boyle's The Gift stays atop the Billboard 200 album chart this week, while poor Natasha Bedingfield debuts at a shockingly low #103 with Strip Me. On the Hot 100 singles chart, Katy Perry earns a second consecutive week--the first artist to do so in a month & a half--with "Firework", while Rihanna's Drake-assisted "What's My Name?" comes close to returning to the top, rising 3-2 as the chart's Airplay Gainer. Meanwhile, Dirty Money's Skylar Grey-featured "Coming Home" jumps 51-24 as the chart's Digital Gainer (65,000, +92%).

Natasha Bedingfield Performs "Strip Me" On Lopez Tonight

Natasha Bedingfield gave another performance of the title track off her new album Strip Me on Lopez Tonight. I just have not had the time to dive into her new album--there are so many new albums right now!

New Music Tuesday

We're now in the heat of the Christmas shopping season, so it should come as no surprise that this week is a big one for new releases! First up, we have Ciara's oft-delayed fourth album Basic Instinct. It really is an excellent body of work & includes the singles "Ride" featuring Ludacris, "Speechless", & "Gimmie Dat". Next is another belated arrival: Dirty Money's Last Train To Paris. Also a solid project, it contains the singles *deep breath* "Angels" featuring The Notorious B.I.G. & Rick Ross, "Hello Good Morning" featuring T.I., "Loving You No More" featuring Drake, "Coming Home" featuring Skylar Grey, & "A** On The Floor" featuring Swizz Beatz. Last but not least for the highlights is Leona Lewis' CD/DVD "The Labyrinth Tour: Live From The O2", which I'm very anxious to check out! Natasha Bedingfield performed the title track off her new album Strip Me Tuesday morning, the album's release day, on the Today show. The album's pretty good... I just haven't been in the mood for as in-your-face a voice as Natasha's lately. That said, I like the song & the movie it's currently featured in, which is "Morning Glory", so check that one out!

Natasha Bedingfield Performs On Extra

Natasha Bedingfield performed acoustic versions of "Weightless", a new song off her upcoming album Strip Me (December 7th), & "Unwritten" on Extra. I like "Weightless" & this version of "Unwritten" actually made the song bearable, so this was nice!

Natasha Bedingfield Performs "Give Me A Sign" At The Roxy

Natasha Bedingfield joined one of my favorite producers Brian Kennedy onstage at the Roxy to perform an unreleased (apparent) collaboration between the two of them called "Give Me A Sign", which surprisingly didn't make the cut for her upcoming album Strip Me (December 7th). I say surprisingly, but she did sound pretty screechy throughout, although it'd probably sound better in the studio. Did you catch BK's insane piano skills though?!

("Girls Fall Like Dominoes" is the iTunes bonus track.) So she was stretching the truth just a smidge with that whole "17 tracks" bit ("Massive Attack"! Hello?!), but I ain't complainin' cause hardly anybody gives you this much bang for your buck anymore! I really am pumped for the album, especially since what appears to be her latest single (listen below) is FIRE... minus Eminem. Natasha Bedingfield though, eh? Who'da thunk it?! lol

Friday night, this year's Stand Up To Cancer telethon aired & stars like Leona Lewis & Natasha Bedingfield, among others (I see you, Kelly Price!), took to the stage to perform in support of the cause. They both sang with Stevie Wonder, Natasha on a rusty "With You I'm Born Again" & Leona amongst a group on "Unchained Melody". In addition, both of them, though primarily Leona, joined in performing both the Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams" & during the finale. Definitely a good look. I've gotta add that I've been really into Leona's Echo era lately--the album, leaked material from around the same time, even Ryan Tedder's demos. If you can get past "Happy", there's some really good music to be uncovered there!

"Touch" is the first single lifted from Natasha Bedingfield's forthcoming third album. Overall, I like the video. I was all excited at first cause the visual played out the lyrics, but with Natasha still being the narrator, which I liked & found to be a perfect opportunity for this type of song to NOT have a club-set video for once... until exactly that happened. But it kinda turned around again by the end.

Natasha Bedingfield performed her new single "Touch" on So You Think You Can Dance & did a great job (minus the screaming towards the end *shrug*). I'm trying to like the song, but I seem to be able to find more things wrong with it than right. For example, I don't like the timing of the lyrics during the verses... but maybe they just needed to turn the background music up during the performance.

Natasha Bedingfield Album Update

Natasha Bedingfield is currently in the writing stages of creating her third album. She recently revealed an impressive lineup of collaborators that includes Ryan Tedder, John Shanks, Salaam Remi, Wyclef Jean, & Sia (Christina Aguilera). A couple others, Eg White & Mike Elizondo, worked with Kris Allen on his debut album earlier this year. Natasha says she's "working on a sound that is fresh & brings everything up a few notches," which is what I feel she did from her debut to sophomore album, so that's good to hear. She is a talented artist who has something unique to offer, so I look forward to hearing what she comes up with.

Sure the awards themselves were duds, but the 2008 American Music Awards was the best awards show of the year—thanks in no small part to the outstanding lineup of performers. Christina Aguilera opened the show in an unprecedented way with a hits medley that included “Beautiful,” “Keeps Gettin’ Better,” “Genie In A Bottle,” “Dirrty,” “Ain’t No Other Man” & “Fighter.” Nonstop action! I loved it. Beyonce did an amazing job with her performance. The Pussycat Dolls performed both “I Hate This Part” & “When I Grow Up,” & though Nicole was vocally on-point, my favorite part was the dance break toward the end. One of the most shocking highlights of the night was when Pink joined Sarah McLachlan on stage for a duet. Beautiful gorgeousness. Alicia Keys brought the show to a close with a couple guests & though it was a bit of a mess, it wasn’t bad. I couldn’t for the life of me get into Leona Lewis’ performance however. Love her, but if I hear that @#$% song one more time… RELEASE ANOTHER SINGLE ALREADY! The underrated Natasha Bedingfield shined with her medley of “Soulmate,” “Unwritten,” & “Pocketful Of Sunshine.” Kanye West also did his thing, while Rihanna was simply blah. Natasha Bedingfield "Pocketful Of Sunshine (Deluxe Edition)" Details

This week, Natasha Bedingfield released a deluxe edition of her sophomore album Pocketful Of Sunshine. The CD/DVD set includes, in addition to the original album, several remixes of Natasha's hits from both this album & her Unwritten album as well as live performances & music videos on the DVD. The remixes are: "Unwritten (Johnny Vicious Radio Mix)," "The One That Got Away (Valentin Radio Mix)," "Love Like This (Johnny Vicious Radio Mix)," "Pocketful Of Sunshine (Stonebridge Radio Mix)," & "Angel (Moto Blanco Radio Edit)." The DVD includes music videos for "Love Like This" featuring Sean Kingston, "Pocketful Of Sunshine," "Soulmate," & "I Wanna Have Your Babies," a single off the UK version of her sophomore album (N.B.) that was interestingly left off this US version. The live performances were filmed at the Nokia Theatre in New York & are of the following songs: "These Words (I Love You, I Love You)," "I Bruise Easily," "Single," "Wild Horses," & "Unwritten."
