Not that they mean anything, but the nominations for the 2012 Grammys have been announced & Rihanna managed to score four. Nicki Minaj & Kelly Price both got three, while Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Melanie Fiona, & Fergie (as a songwriter on Kanye West's "All Of The Lights") each scored a pair. See the full list of nominees HERE.
Kanye West brought out Fergie during his performance of "All Of The Lights" at the SWU Music & Arts Festival in Brazil. Am I the only one that forgot this song features everyone in the known universe & not just Rihanna?
Fergie sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" at a game featuring the Miami Dolphins, a team she is part-owner of, on Monday Night Football & did surprisingly well, if I do say so myself.
For his forthcoming album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (November 22nd), Kanye West enlisted an all-star lineup for the track "All Of The Lights", which features Rihanna on the hook as well as Fergie, Alicia Keys, & more:
Others at least supposedly featured on the song are Ryan Leslie, Elton John, John Legend, The-Dream, Tony Williams, Charlie Wilson, La Roux's Elly Jackson, & Kid Cudi. Everyone featured, Rihanna aside, was completely wasted.
As one of their Women of the Year, Fergie covers a 20th anniversary special issue of Glamour magazine. I like that she's back to the blonde! Meanwhile, The Black-Eyed Peas' next album The Beginning arrives November 30th.
"Beautiful Dangerous", featuring Fergie, is the latest single off Slash's self-titled album. I missed hearing that voice! Now, are we all onboard another Fergie solo album? I wouldn't be opposed to a rock-tinged one. ;)
For the cover of their new album The Beginning (November 30th), The Black-Eyed Peas have simply reversed the black background & the white writing. In related news, Fergie has been named Billboard's Woman Of The Year based on the Peas' recent success. Congrats, Ferg... now stop with this techno mess & release us another solo album (PLEASE)!
Fergie has released her first fragrance "Outspoken" & an accompanying ad for the Avon exclusive. Despite the above being uploaded by the user to YouTube five months ago, I just saw this for the first time on TV last night. I'm wondering why, as successful a solo artist as she is, will.i.am is doing the jingle..?
David Guetta keeps the hits from his latest album One Love coming with "Gettin' Over You", which features Fergie, Chris Willis, & LMFAO. Naturally, Fergie steals the show by both sounding & looking amazing! I was actually impressed by Chris Willis too though--I had never even heard of him before. Btw, keep your eyes peeled for the JabbaWockeeZ from ABDC.
Fergie looks fabulous (I know, I need to lay off the cheese...) in the new video from David Guetta & his latest album One Love. Can't wait to see the whole thing!
Just cause she's busy dominating the world with the Peas doesn't mean Fergie hasn't found time to do a little solo work on the side! For one, she's featured on a pair of tracks on Slash's new self-titled solo album. The first is called "Beautiful Dangerous":
I love this one! She kills it. The other is a bonus track also featuring Cypress Hill that's a cover of Guns & Roses' "Paradise City":
I think it's cool. Ferg's also featured on David Guetta's new single "Gettin' Over You," which includes LMFAO & the One Love album version's featured artist Chris Willis as well:
Yup. Sounds like Guetta to me! She was probably just returning the favor following the success of "I Gotta Feeling" anyway.
As you may have heard, Quincy Jones & Lionel Richie gathered 81 acts on February 1st to remake "We Are The World" for Haiti in the same studio where the original was recorded 25 years ago. With the help of producers Wyclef Jean, Rickey Minor, & RedOne, artists such as Janet Jackson, Jennifer Hudson, Nicole Scherzinger, India.Arie, Melanie Fiona, Mya, Keri Hilson, Brandy, Pink, Jordin Sparks, Celine Dion, Katharine McPhee, Usher, Kanye West, Fergie, Mary J. Blige, & Toni Braxton took part in this piece of history. It even features Michael Jackson! The final result can be viewed above & I think it came out pretty well. Could've given some solos to Brandy & Jordin Sparks instead of Justin Bieber & She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, but you can't always win. Just gotta remember it's all for a good cause! Speaking of which, you can download "We Are The World 25 For Haiti" HERE from iTunes, proceeds from which will benefit Haiti.
Fergie has landed herself the January cover of Cosmopolitan all over the world. Personally, I prefer the shot being used in Romania, as the Chile cover looks too same-y for her. Nonetheless, the Black-Eyed Pea looks great on both.
The soundtrack for Fergie's new movie "Nine" drops tomorrow & with that comes the leaking of her two tracks from the film. The one we haven't heard yet is a will.i.am collaboration titled "Quando Quando Quando." Take a listen:
As weird as it is to say, this does actually sound like what you might expect from a will.i.am track on the "Nine" soundtrack.. lol. Not bad. As a bonus, I've included Fergie's other track from the movie (which can be heard in its trailer) "Be Italian" below. I prefer it actually because it really displays Fergie's occasionally underrated talent. Darn the fact that "I Gotta Feeling" & co. had to become so huge because she needs to record that second solo album stat!
Here's a pair of new trailers for "Nine," a forthcoming musical that features Fergie in the cast. In the above clip, although we've already heard her song & seen what she looks like, there's actually some footage of her performing in the movie; the second video is mainly just a (Kate Hudson-centric) sequence from the film. This really does look good! "Nine" opens on Christmas Day.
Check out Fergie as a woman of the night in the new musical "Nine," which hits theaters on Christmas Day. Ads have been running for this & it looks like a winner!
Fergie is Cosmopolitan's cover girl for their December issue. I've been enjoying the dark hair on her & she's really perfecting it. She will co-star in "Nine" when it hits theaters nationwide on Christmas Day.
Fergie has landed the cover of & a spread in the August issue of Marie Claire. I quite like how the Black-Eyed Pea is looking in this shoot. Speaking of, The Black-Eyed Peas' The END is out now.
