Seriously, this is REALLY good! I was even surprised myself. Rather than the corn-fest it's advertised as being, this movie is actually visually stunning with a great story & lots of heart. Definitely check it out if you get a chance. One of Dreamworks' best!

I was finally able to catch the Mo'Nique & Mariah Carey-starring, Oprah Winfrey & Tyler Perry-executive produced "Precious." It was definitely a good movie; the aforementioned ladies did their thing as well. I do feel, however, that due to the expectations created by the overwhelmingly positive press (see: above) that it wasn't as life-changing as I thought it would be. That said, it's still a pretty powerful film.

I finally caught "Michael Jackson's This Is It" & it was pretty incredible. As always, Michael was doing it big. Even in rehearsals, he was singing & dancing very well--much better than I had expected. As enjoyable as it was, the documentary was also an emotional experience. Michael truly was a wonderful person as well as performer.

I had the opportunity to catch "I Can Do Bad All By Myself" & if there's one thing Tyler Perry doesn't know how to do, it's disappoint. Taraji, MJB, Madea, oh my! Taraji P. Henson & co. were great. Mary J. Blige actually sang twice during the movie, so that was a very nice touch.

I was able to catch a showing of "Obsessed" today, which stars Beyonce alongside Idris Elba & Ali Larter. I liked the flick, though it was your basic, by-the-book thriller. Beyonce looked great throughout & I enjoyed watching her go at it with Ali.

Well, I finally got to see this one & WOW! Considering what I've heard, "Cadillac Records" is very underrated & it's such a shame this film didn't reach a larger audience. While the entire cast, especially Mos Def, was impressive, Beyonce absolutely blew me away. She stole scenes from an Oscar winner (Adrien Brody) &, despite the Golden Globes, definitely deserves an Oscar nomination herself ... yes, in the acting category.

I was finally able to check out "The Secret Life Of Bees," which stars Jennifer Hudson & Alicia Keys, & I was very impressed. All the actresses gave wonderful performances & the film was a breath of fresh air.
