Thanks to her radio station, we have a few new details about Christina Aguilera's upcoming fourth studio album. Christina has just announced that she's been working with the likes of M.I.A. & Santigold for the electronic-futuristic set. She has also been working on the project, rumored to be titled Light & Darkness, with Linda Perry, Sia Furler (the voice of Zero 7's "Destiny"), Goldfrapp, & Ladytron, among others. Sadly, fans will most likely have to wait until next year to get their hands on the album. Having somewhat recently discovered "Destiny" by Zero 7 after Solange performed it, I now better understand Christina's influence for the new sound displayed on her greatest hits record, particularly "You Are What You Are (Beautiful)," & I appreciate it more. (I don't know anything about the other electro peeps she's working with.) Nonetheless, I'm hoping that Christina can find a happy medium between that & her usual(ish) pop sound because 1) her fans aren't (necessarily) electronic music fans & 2) that sound doesn't display her outstanding vocals nearly enough. That said, I'm looking forward to what she's cooked up, especially with the newly-announced collaborators because Christina is always creative & original, & we sure need some of that right now.
