The big news this week, of course, is Britney Spears' comeback album Circus debuting on the Billboard 200 album chart at #1 with 505,000 copies sold. As much as I hate listening to people complain about the economy, those are truly impressive numbers nowadays. I'm so happy for Britney. On the other hand, I'm not so happy about this week's Hot 100 singles chart. T.I. & Rihanna return to the top with "Live Your Life" for some reason. Why is it that all the good songs that make it to #1 only last one week? There is a little light at the end of the tunnel though: Britney debuted at #3 with the title track off her new album "Circus" after selling 212,000 digital copies, giving her her first ever top 10 debut. Nice!
