Leona Lewis Performs "Happy" On Ellen

Leona Lewis did a little more promo here in the US for her second album Echo with a performance of its first single "Happy" on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. I was liking the slightly different arrangement of the song, such as the piano at the beginning & her singing during the chorus without the backing track, until I realized at the end--when Leona didn't go for the oober-high notes--that the rumors of her having a sore throat must be true & that's why they changed the song lol. Regardless, if you're getting sick of this song, rest assured, Echo is much better than its lead single.

Billboard Update

^#1 Album #1 Single^

Bon Jovi's The Circle tops this week's Billboard 200 album chart, where Britney Spears debuts at #22 with The Singles Collection. Further down on the chart, Melanie Fiona re-enters at #57 with The Bridge, which debuted a few weeks back @ #129 upon its digital release. On the Hot 100 singles chart this week, Jay-Z & Alicia Keys finally hit the peak position with "Empire State Of Mind."

Janet Jackson's Interview With Robin Roberts

Janet Jackson opens up to ABC's Robin Roberts about her difficult year in this new interview. Janet discusses how she is coping with the death of her brother Michael as well as her father Joe, Jermaine Dupri, her struggles with her weight, & her career, which she reveals should include more acting. At times, it was difficult to watch (as you can imagine), but the interview really had some interesting parts also. What I can't get over is that Janet never liked her smile until recently... does she not realize she has one of the best smiles in the world?! Madness! Meanwhile, on the music front, Janet's new hits collection Number Ones is available now.

Amerie Performs "Heard 'Em All" On Lopez Tonight

Amerie continued tearing up stage after stage with her performance of "Heard 'Em All" on George Lopez's new late-night talk show Lopez Tonight. As hot a song as this is, when she performs it, she almost sounds like she's rapping. If Def Jam wants to move some units of In Love & War, they need to have her SANG something!

Janet Jackson "Make Me" Video Preview

Check out this sneak peek at Janet Jackson's video for "Make Me" lifted from her new compilation album Number Ones. Honey child, I need this right. NOW! This presumably aired during her interview with Robin Roberts on ABC tonight, which I have yet to watch unfortunately, but I'll have it up as soon as I do. Edit: Now that I've watched the interview, I know that it was revealed during the special that the full "Make Me" video will premiere tomorrow (Friday) on 20/20.

Alicia Keys Performs "Empire State Of Mind Part 2" On Stripped

Alicia Keys has premiered "Empire State Of Mind Part 2" on iheartradio's Stripped concert series. The sequel to her hit with Jay-Z will be included on her forthcoming album The Element Of Freedom (December 15th). My goodness, this is AMAZING! Oh, Alicia. Thank you so. I suspect an additional few performances from her session here will show up in the coming weeks.

Kris Allen On Regis & Kelly

"Live Like We're Dying"

Interview

Yup. Here's Kris Allen performing "Live Like We're Dying" off his self-titled debut album again on Live With Regis & Kelly. What exactly is up with that little rap in the middle there anyway? At least it appears he's enjoying himself.

OneRepublic Performs "All The Right Moves" On Jimmy Kimmel

OneRepublic continued promotion for their awesome new album Waking Up with a performance of their first single "All The Right Moves" on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night. I've decided that Ryan Tedder is my DUDE this year. What, with this, Adam Lambert's "Sleepwalker," "Halo," etc, etc... he is one talented guy!

Rihanna Performs In London

Here is Rihanna's entire Nokia-sponsored concert from London, where she debuted a number of tracks off her upcoming album Rated R (November 23rd). Rihanna, who is known for her *excellent* performance skills, did have great stage presence & worked some interesting props. Highlights include seeing "Hard" live, the microphone thingy towards the end, & watching her dig into Monsieur Beatdown during "Take A Bow." Check out the setlist below:

Mad House
Wait Your Turn
Russian Roulette
Don’t Stop The Music
Take A Bow
Disturbia
Hard (ft. Young Jeezy)
Live Your Life
Run This Town (ft. Jay-Z)
Umbrella (ft. Jay-Z)

Kris Allen Performs "Live Like We're Dying" On Alexa Chung

It's On With Alexa Chung welcomed the latest American Idol winner Kris Allen to the stage to perform "Live Like We're Dying," the first single off his self-titled debut album. We're going to be seeing a lot of this, aren't we?

Jennifer Hudson To Star In "Winnie"

Jennifer Hudson has landed the title role of Nelson Mandela's wife Winnie Mandela in the forthcoming film "Winnie." The script is based on the biography "Winnie Mandela: A Life" & is set to begin shooting in May. Here's what Jennifer, who is expected to sing the movie's theme song, has to say about her role:

"I was compelled & moved when I read the script. Winnie Mandela is a complex & extraordinary woman, & I'm honored to be the actress asked to portray her. This is a powerful part of history that should be told."

Sounds like a big role for J-Hud that should earn her more acclaim! It's great to see Jennifer doing more acting; I do hope there's truth to that 'theme song' business though!

Alicia Keys & Leona Lewis Perform On Dancing With The Stars

Alicia Keys "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart"

Leona Lewis "Happy"

Powerhouses Alicia Keys & Leona Lewis left it all on the floor when they both performed on this week's Dancing With The Stars results show. Alicia's performance was solid, but it seemed short... I wanted more! As for Leona's, look at that--a non-boring performance of "Happy!" Miracles do happen!! Leona's wonderful new album Echo is available now, but Alicia's album The Element Of Freedom drops December 15th.

Watch "Mariah Carey: T4 Special"

Mariah Carey's T4 special recently aired in the UK & you can watch the full half-hour show above. Lots of behind-the-scenes footage... very nice. Oh, Mariah, how you give me life. Let me count the ways: "How the h*** do you know how I flew?," "My dogs are superstaaars!" *hand motion*, "Bill who?" LIFE!!! Speaking of which, Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel is out now.
