Usher "Vibe" Magazine Cover

Usher's got the newsstands covered, as he is also featured on the October/November issue of Vibe. The light behind him probably wasn't the best idea, what with the graying effect on his beard & all, but it's still a pretty cool shot. Ursh's new EP Versus is out now.

Jessica Mauboy Performs "Get 'Em Girls" On NRL Grand Final

Jessica Mauboy was joined by the dance group Justice Crew (& Snoop Dogg on the big screen--sneak peek at the music video!) while performing the first single & title track off her forthcoming album Get 'Em Girls (November 5th) during the NRL (that's National Rugby League, my fellow Americans) Grand Final down under. Welp, she definitely got it!

Kelly Rowland Performs National Anthem On Football

Kelly Rowland showed her support for finding the cure for breast cancer while belting out "The Star-Spangled Banner" on the Sunday Night Football game between the New York Giants & the Chicago Bears at the New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Poor Kellz sounded under the weather, but she did a great job regardless! Her as-yet-untitled third solo album is currently being placed in a time capsule alongside Ciara's Basic Instinct, Keri Hilson's No Boys Allowed, & Jazmine Sullivan's Love Me Back to be opened in a century or so when enough people care about R&B music again.

Keri Hilson "No Boys Allowed" Update

I'm not gonna "speculate" as to why Keri Hilson has decided to move forward from "Breaking Point" to the second single off her upcoming sophomore album No Boys Allowed, which is currently set for release on November 30th; I'll simply say that Miss Keri has chosen "Pretty Girl Rock" as the follow-up. The Chuck Harmony & Ne-Yo production is certainly more radio friendly & is very nice. "Pretty Girl Rock" is set to hit iTunes on October 12th. (Pst, Keri! Interesting 'do... very Keyshia Cole-circa-2007.)

Katharine McPhee "Say Goodbye (Alternate Version)" Video Premiere

Luckily, a video has premiered for "Say Goodbye", Katharine McPhee's third single off her second album Unbroken, without all those obnoxious interruptions. Turns out the footage we missed the first time around was really important! This is much better.

Ciara Covers "Deuces" For Mixtape

Ciara has released yet another track, a cover of Chris Beatdown's "Deuces", for her never-coming Basic Instinct mixtape. At least it IS helping tide me over until the album arrives December 14th (UGH#$%&!!). That new promo pic gives me all kinda life too!

New Janet Jackson "For Colored Girls" Poster

Here we have yet another one of Tyler Perry's unique poster designs for his latest, the Janet Jackson-starring adaptation "For Colored Girls". Is that Kimberly Elise? I can't decide... "For Colored Girls" opens on November 5th.

Alicia Keys & Usher Support Buy Life

A pregnant Alicia Keys is pictured, along with her buddy Usher, supporting Buy Life, a new campaign by Keep A Child Alive. More information about the campaign can be found by visiting the Buy Life website HERE. Good look!

Shontelle "Perfect Nightmare" Video Premiere

"Perfect Nightmare" is the second single lifted from Shontelle's sophomore album No Gravity. This director, Colin Tilley, who also just did Ciara's "Speechless", is really impressing me! I also must say that after hearing about No Gravity's poor first week sales, I had to go pick it up. Sure I felt bad for Shontelle, but the material definitely warranted the purchase (see: Darkchild!). I love this song!

Katharine McPhee "Christmas Is The Time To Say I Love You" Cover & Tracklisting + Preview

Beautiful brunette Katharine McPhee is all set to release her holiday album Christmas Is The Time To Say I Love You on October 12th. Check out which familiar tunes she'll be covering (there's new material too!) below:

1. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
2. Jingle Bells
3. It's Not Christmas Without You
4. O Holy Night
5. Silver Bells
6. Christmas Is The Time
7. Medley: O Little Town Of Bethlehem/Away In A Manger
8. What Are You Doing New Year's Eve
9. White Christmas
10. Who Would Imagine A King

Click HERE to listen to a snippet of each track. In all honesty, I think I'm gonna enjoy this more than Unbroken. With that said, I'm not sure why she felt the need to liven things up with stuff like "Jingle Bells" & "Silver Bells"... but she'll sound good, I'm sure.

Mary J. Blige & Usher "Ebony" Magazine Cover

Mary J. Blige, Usher, Taraji P. Henson, Samuel L. Jackson, & Nia Long (with her OWN half of the cover..?) help Ebony celebrate their 65th anniversary on the cover of their latest issue. Yup.

Billboard Update

^#1 Album #1 Single^

Zac Brown Band debuted atop the latest Billboard 200 album chart (over the more-deserving Maroon 5) with You Get What You Give. Meanwhile, Shontelle's No Gravity started out at a ridiculously low #81 (although it is an improvement over where Shontelligence came in). Cocaine addict Bruno Mars remained atop the Hot 100 singles chart with "Just The Way You Are", while Dirty Money debuted @ #91 with their Drake-assisted "Loving You No More".

Mariah Carey "Oh Santa!" Song Premiere

Mariah Carey has premiered the first single "Oh Santa!" off her upcoming second Christmas album Merry Christmas II You (November 2nd) & it's certainly got me ready for Christmas in October! That's some pretty fab cover art there too!

The Caffeine Patch: Rio Poster

The first poster from "Rio", Blue Sky's latest, has debuted & is quite a funny depiction of the main character. For some reason though, the multi-colored title bugs me. (lol) "Rio" hits theaters next year in 3D on April 8th.

Mario Arrested For Allegedly Attacking Mother

On Friday, Mario was arrested for allegedly attacking his mother in their Baltimore apartment. Mario has been charged with 2nd degree assault after police found damaged property inside the apartment that, according to Mario's mother, was a result of their altercation. He was released on $50,000 bond. I am saddened to hear of this news. While I don't condone Mario's behavior, I can only imagine that his struggle in dealing with his mother's heroin addition, as displayed in his 2007 documentary "I Won't Love You To Death", must've finally boiled over. I'll definitely be keeping Mario & his family in my thoughts & prayers.
