While on her "Last Girl On Earth" tour, Rihanna has also been busy recording her fifth album, the follow-up to Rated R. She is headed in a more "positive," "energetic" direction this time around & has been collaborating with the biggest names out right now: Alex Da Kid, Sean Garrett, David Guetta, Ne-Yo, Ester Dean, Jim Beanz, & Timbaland. As far as collaborators go, I'm :) with Timbaland & Sean Garrett, staying optimistic about Ester Dean (I didn't care for the lyrics to Christina Aguilera's "Not Myself Tonight", but she won me over with Usher's "Hot Tottie" + she did write "Rude Boy"...) & Alex Da Kid (blew me away with Nicki Minaj's "Massive Attack", but stunk it up with "Love The Way You Lie"...), & :( with Ne-Yo & David Guetta. Then there's that all-fun, nothing-serious attitude she's approaching the project with. I'm sure radio will eat it up & most people will be pleased, but I, for one, am not. For the first time, Rihanna actually had something to offer as an artist with Rated R & it'll be such a shame if she backtracks to her GGGB days just to notch some more #1's. You've showed us you're better than that now, RiRi--you can't go back now!
