Mary J. Blige has signed on to star as Nina Simone in a biopic of the singer entitled "Nina". The film, which begins shooting in France in September, will co-star David Oyelowo ("The Last King Of Scotland") as Nina's assistant & be directed by Cynthia Mort (writer, "The Brave One"). If I'm being perfectly honest, Nina Simone is one of the many female vocalists, like the late Lena Horne, that I've heard about over the years, but I don't know too much about. This will be interesting. Nina is quite a figure in music history. I believe Blige has the vocal chords, but does she have the acting skils?
