MTV confirms that Janet Jackson is set to open the 2009 VMAs with a tribute to her late brother Michael Jackson. It is rumored that the performance will be a dance tribute "featuring 20 backup dancers." So, THAT's enough to keep me glued to the TV on Sunday. Also, Alicia Keys will reportedly take the stage with Jay-Z for "Empire State Of Mind," joining previously announced performers like Beyonce & Pink. Besides that opening number, I won't be expecting too much, but it should be a pretty good show.
