The 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards Recap

Beyonce "If I Were A Boy"

Pink "So What"

Estelle & Kanye West "American Boy"

Kanye West "Love Lockdown"

The performance highlights of the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards are an interesting bunch to say the least. So, Sasha Fierce showed up at the show. Outfit? Check. Glove? Check. "Single Ladies?" Uhh... nope. Beyonce performed "If I Were A Boy" again ... which is all fine & dandy, but I wanted her to PERFORM, ya know? Pink had a seemingly difficult time getting through "So What" this time--what, with bodyguards in the way, a screwy earpiece, &, well, feathers?! Good try though. When it comes to Estelle's Kanye-assisted "American Boy" performance, all I've got to say is this: no one on the corner got swagger like Estelle. Finally, Kanye West attempted "Love Lockdown" & ... either there were technical mistakes, just plain Kanye mistakes, or both. All-in-all though, it was an entertaining show.

The awards were also quite interesting themselves. As it turns out, Britney Spears took home two big ones: Album Of The Year & Act Of 2008. Album Of The Year for Blackout I can almost understand, but what exactly has she done this year to validate that other award? Nonetheless, I'm happy for her. Also, Pink picked up Most Addictive Track for "So What" & Kanye West won the Ultimate Urban award. Nice. To view a complete list of winners, click HERE.
