Tyler Perry has announced the cast of his next film, which will be a big screen adaptation of the play "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf." Multi-talented superstars Mariah Carey & Janet Jackson are among the impressive cast of women, which also includes Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Kimberly Elise, Jurnee Smollett, Kerry Washington, Macy Gray, & Loretta Devine. The movie will shoot in June, aiming for release late this year or early next year. I'm all for the power trio of Tyler, Mariah, & Janet, but if you'll recall, India.Arie was set to star in a Broadway revival of this a couple years ago (the producer of which happened to be Whoopi Goldberg) before it was cancelled. As a result, I'm a bit saddened that she won't be appearing in this film. I suppose you never know what goes on behind-the-scenes though...[Source]
