The 2010 World Music Awards Recap

Jennifer Lopez - Medley

N.E.R.D. - Medley

Deborah Cox "Leave The World Behind"

Kelly Rowland & David Guetta "When Love Takes Over"

The 2010 World Music Awards (or at least the highlights) can be summed up in two words: Jennifer Lopez. Being honored as a Legend For Outstanding Contribution To The Arts, J.Lo also took to the stage & absolutely slayed a medley of "Get Right", "Jenny From The Block", "Love Don't Cost A Thing", "If You Had My Love", "Waiting For Tonight", & "Let's Get Loud" (with a little "Play" thrown in there) that features all of her famous dance breaks from over the years! As for the other performers--like N.E.R.D., who did Pharrell's collaboration with Snoop Dogg "Beautiful" & "Hot & Fun"--it wasn't very impressive... not to mention, Kelly Rowland, that that song is sooo last year... although, I hadn't ever heard of that Deborah Cox song before (Where is The Queen Project anyway?). In addition to Jennifer's award, other winners included The Black-Eyed Peas, who, strangely enough, were given the World's Best Pop Artist, World's Best R&B Artist, & World's Best Hip-Hop Artist trophies... click HERE to see all the winners.

Deborah Cox, Kelly Price, & Tamia Form Super Group

R&B divas Deborah Cox, Kelly Price, & Tamia are joining together to form a group with the working name TDK. The trio are currently recording an album together entitled The Queen Project, which is slated for release in early 2010 & set to be preceded by the song "Queen." They also plan on logging studio time with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Raphael Saadiq, & R. Kelly in the near future & are even filming their sessions for a possible reality show. This is incredible news! Just last year, Deborah released a great album titled The Promise, & while I'm a fan of Kelly, I've never really gotten into Tamia, but I bet these ladies cook up some wonderful music for us. There sure are a number of soulful ladies I can think of that I would love to see resurface in a situation like this (Shanice, I'm lookin' at you).

Deborah Cox "Beautiful U R" Video Premiere

"Beautiful U R" is the new single taken from Deborah Cox's recently released album The Promise. I've liked this song for a while now, so I'm glad it got the single treatment. The video may be simple, but it's effective. I also have to stress how good The Promise is. I've kept it on rotation right up there with the new albums from Beyonce & David Archuleta.

Deborah Cox "The Promise" Cover & Tracklisting

Check out the cover of Deborah Cox's new album The Promise, which drops on November 11th, above. After some time away from the contemporary R&B scene, Deborah is back & apparently 'promises' to bring it (I tried). Some of you, like myself, may know her from her biggest hit to date "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here," but it appears that we should be paying attention to her this time around. The tracklisting for The Promise is below:

1. Love Is Not Made In Words
2. You Know Where My Heart Is
3. Did You Ever Love Me
4. Saying Goodbye
5. Beautiful U R
6. Promise
7. All Over Me
8. All Hearts Aren't Shaped The Same
9. Down 4 U
10. Where Do We Go 2

"Beautiful U R" is the business, so I look forward to this new album from Deborah. Nice cover as well.
