A Night With Beyonce

Early last month, a special entitled A Night With Beyonce aired in the UK. I thought it was a rehashing of her Live At Roseland DVD like her Thanksgiving specials the last couple of years, but it turns out that it was entirely new footage! (The "I Was Here" performance from last night was from this taping.) Beyonce was having an especially good night vocally, so make sure you check it out, especially the "Countdown" performance! Hosted by everybody favorite on-air personality, The X Factor's Steve Jones, the special features Beyonce answering questions from the audience in between the following performances:

Crazy In Love
At Last
Irreplaceable
End Of Time
If I Were A Boy/You Oughta Know
1+1
Countdown
Best Thing I Never Had
Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)

Nicki Minaj shut it down at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve '12 with performances of her David Guetta collabo "Turn Me On", new single "Roman In Moscow", & biggest hit yet. Beyonce also provided the special with a pre-recorded performance from London (more on that later).

Beyonce Performs "I Wanna Be Where You Are" At Michael Jackson Tribute Concert

Seeing as how the taping of the Michael Jackson tribute concert is slowly slipping into oblivion, Beyonce has taken to her own devices to share her performance of "I Wanna Be Where You Are", a stylized, lengthier version of the same performance from her recent Live At Roseland: Elements Of 4 DVD release, from the concert by uploading it to her YouTube channel. Very nice job as always!

Beyonce Appears On 20/20

Beyonce recently discussed her pregnancy & new DVD [Live At Roseland: Elements Of] 4 (but feel free not to bother with that mouthful, host-man!) with Katie Couric on 20/20.

2012 Grammy Nominees Announced

Not that they mean anything, but the nominations for the 2012 Grammys have been announced & Rihanna managed to score four. Nicki Minaj & Kelly Price both got three, while Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Melanie Fiona, & Fergie (as a songwriter on Kanye West's "All Of The Lights") each scored a pair. See the full list of nominees HERE.

Beyonce "Countdown (Alternate Version)" Video Premiere

A lawsuit-free version of Beyonce's "Countdown" video has surfaced. It's certainly an interesting watch, though a step down from the original. Beyonce's should've-been-Grammy-nominated album 4 is out now.

The 2011 Soul Train Awards Recap

Melanie Fiona performed "Fool For You", her duet with Cee Lo Green, at the 2011 Soul Train Awards, where Kelly Rowland was a big winner, picking up Song Of The Year for "Motivation"! Nicki Minaj won Best Hip-Hop Song Of The Year for "Moment 4 Life", Beyonce picked up Best Dance Performance for "Run The World (Girls)", & Rihanna won Best Caribbean Performance for "Man Down". See a full list of winners HERE.

The 2011 American Music Awards Recap

Jennifer Lopez & Pitbull - Medley

Jennifer Lopez, will.i.am, & Mick Jagger "T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)"

Nicki Minaj & David Guetta - Medley

Christina Aguilera & Maroon 5 "Moves Like Jagger"

Mary J. Blige "Mr. Wrong"

Kelly Clarkson "Mr. Know It All"

OneRepublic "Good Life"

Jennifer Lopez had a showstopping night (of redemption) at the 2011 American Music Awards with her own performance of "Until It Beats No More" "Papi" & "On The Floor", a performance of her collabo with will.i.am, & a win in the Latin Music Artist category! Nicki Minaj set the bar high at the top of the show, performing her David Guetta collabo "Turn Me On" as well as "Super Bass" before going on to win both the Rap/Hip-Hop Artist & Rap/Hip-Hop Album (Pink Friday) trophies! Christina Aguilera... didn't look completely terrible, but sounded terrific while performing her #1 hit with Maroon 5. Mary J. Blige performed her cool new single for the first time... by herself, which was weird since Drake was there, not that I'm complaining. Kelly Clarkson switched things up for a jazzy performance of her latest single that I dug, while OneRepublic stuck to what works with theirs. Meanwhile, Beyonce & Usher won Soul/R&B Female Artist & Soul/R&B Male Artist, respectively, & Rihanna picked up the award for Soul/R&B Album for Loud. A complete list of winners can be viewed HERE.

Beyonce "1+1 (Alternate Version)" Video Premiere

An alternate--& better--version of Beyonce's "1+1" video, which I fear will take the seventh & last slot in the 4 anthology instead of my fav "End Of Time", has surfaced.

Beyonce "Live At Roseland: Elements Of 4" Cover

Beyonce continues her very own Thanksgiving tradition with the release of Live At Roseland: Elements Of 4 on November 29th, her third concert DVD release in three years. The DVD will also include seven music videos from the 4 era: "Run The World (Girls)", "Best Thing I Never Had", "1 + 1", "Countdown", "Love On Top", "Party", & what BETTER be "End Of Time"!

Beyonce ft. J. Cole "Party" Video Premiere

"Party", featuring J. Cole, is the sixth single to be lifted from Beyonce's latest album 4. I absolutely love this song, although J. Cole's verse is 3000x worse than Andre's. Not sure why they didn't give "Countdown" time to do anything, but I love the video! Look out for cameos from Kelly Rowland & Solange!

Beyonce "Love On Top" Video Premiere

"Love On Top" is the fifth track & newest international single to be lifted from Beyonce's latest album 4. How she can call her highest-debuting hit in the US thus far from this album just an international single, I don't know. It irks me that she cut out the middle of the song, but it's definitely a cool video.
