Rihanna "Man Down" Video Premiere

"Man Down" is the fifth single off Rihanna's Loud album. The Anthony Mandler-directed (UGH) video is so-so. Dramatic, yet boring lol. Love that this song got a video though.

Jennifer Lopez "¡Q'Viva! The Chosen" Sneak Peek

From Simon Fuller, creator of American Idol, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, & choreographer Jamie King have teamed up for a new show called ¡Q'Viva! The Chosen that, beginning in July, will find them trekking across the Americas in search of talent. No word yet on what, if any, network the show will be airing on in the United States, but check out a sneak peek of the show above. My goodness, Jennifer, what's with the newfound interesting in looking for undiscovered talent?! Don't forget: You might try to squeeze in a little time to actually put on a performance or two to promote your fantastic new album Love?

Mya Sings "Happy Birthday" To The Rock

Feel free to file this in the 'in case you missed it' department. Almost a month ago now, Mya sang "Happy Birthday" to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, pro-wrestler & star of "The Scorpion King Tooth Fairy", at the WWE's festivities for the occasion. You don't have to to catch Mya's whole part, but if you watch all the way through, it will become evident to you that there was no one more excited about the festivities than the commentator ("the biggest birthday celebration known to man" ROFL)..! Meanwhile, Mya's new album K.I.S.S. is out now in Japan... & soon-to-be-released in the US?!

Kelly Rowland Joins The X Factor UK Judging Panel

Kelly Rowland has signed on to be a judge for the new season of The X Factor in the UK. She will join returning judge Louis Walsh as well as two other new judges, Take That's Gary Barlow & Tulisa Contostavlos of N-Dubz fame, who are replacing Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, & Dannii Minogue. The X Factor UK will start back up around the same time that it kicks off here in the US. This is a cool gig for her, but I can't help wonder how this will allow for her to be here to promote the fall release of her third album Here I Am. With "Motivation" blowing up right now, she should really think about releasing it sooner--it's not like she hasn't had plenty of time to record enough material for an album.

Pia Toscano Performs On National Memorial Day Concert

National Anthem

I'll Stand By You

What a gig! The fabulous Pia Toscano performed incredible renditions of "The Star-Spangled Banner" & "I'll Stand By You" on the lawn of the Capitol in Washington D.C. as a part of the National Memorial Day Concert on PBS. Gotta love this woman!

Kelly Clarkson & Seal Perform National Anthem On Indy 500

Accompanied by David Foster, Kelly Clarkson sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" with Seal at this year's Indy 500. What a great way to present this in a new light!

Nicki Minaj "Did It On 'Em" Video Premiere

"Did It On 'Em" is the new street single off Nicki Minaj's hit album Pink Friday. Seeing as how this is my favorite song on the album, I was hoping for a video that had actually been shot when I heard about this, but nonetheless, for what it is, this is cute.

Rihanna On Today

"S&M"

"California King Bed"

"What's My Name"

"Only Girl (In The World)" + Interview

Interview (Web Exclusive)

With her Loud tour quickly approaching, Rihanna performed hits from the album on the Today show Friday. "S&M" on daytime TV, RiRi? Really?! Hmm... Ya know, I will give her credit for improving her perfoming skills both visually (see: "What's My Name") & vocally (see: "California King Bed"), but there is no way I would pay to see her in concert. It also bugs me how she draaaws out "Only Girl" when she performs it (it's uptempo!).

Shontelle "Say Hello To Goodbye" Video Premiere

"Say Hello To Goodbye" is the third single lifted from Shontelle's sophomore album No Gravity. The song, the video... all just alright. This is imo the worst song on the album. What can I say? It's no "Impossible"..!

We Are The Fallen Parts Ways With Universal Republic + More

It seems as though the Carly Smithson-led band We Are The Fallen has decided to part ways with their label Universal Republic following a string of cancelled singles. It's not over yet for WATF though: A concert DVD & live CD entitled Cirque Des Damnes is set to be released, one way or another, soon. Also, in a few months' time, an 80's cover EP is due, followed a couple of months thereafter by an EP featuring five new songs, + "a few surprises still to come." So, there you have it, folks. I certainly hope all of this comes to fruition, especially the DVD, & I wish We Are The Fallen a prosperous future.

Beyonce "4" Tracklisting

Now that she's gotten the ball rolling, Beyonce is wasting no time getting the word out about her fourth studio album 4 (June 28th). In addition to releasing the album's opener to iTunes today, she revealed the tracklisting for the album:

1. 1+1
2. I Care
3. I Miss You
4. Best Thing I Never Had
5. Party (ft. Andre 3000)
6. Rather Die Young
7. Start Over
8. Love On Top
9. Countdown
10. End Of Time
11. I Was Here
12. Run The World (Girls)

Everything I've heard from 4 thus far, though rather diverse, has all been phenomenal, so I can't wait! I can't help but wonder though... tracks 6, 10, 11... what is she trying to tell us?! #thingsthatmakeyougohmm

Mohombi ft. Nicole Scherzinger "Coconut Tree" Video Premiere

"Coconut Tree", featuring Nicole Scherzinger, is the fourth single lifted from Mohombi's debut solo album MoveMeant. The video's just OK, but the song is catchy!

Wynter Gordon "With The Music I Die" Cover & Tracklisting

Lucky Australians. On June 17th, their support for Wynter Gordon will be rewarded with the release of her debut album With The Music I Die, the cover art for which that has been provided to retailers is featured above. The set's tracklisting is below:

1. Til Death (Denzal Park Radio Edit)
2. Dirty Talk
3. Don't Stop Me
4. Buy My Love
5. Still Getting Younger
6. Drunk On Your Love
7. All My Life
8. Rumba (ft. Kevin McCall)
9. Back To You
10. In The Morning (ft. Robbie Rivera)

Not sure why the title isn't on it (maybe it's on the side?), but I love the cover art! As for the album, considering (a) how long I've waited for it & (b) that the US will only be receiving a 4-song digital EP on June 28th (as tweeted by Wynter herself), it might just be an import for muah!

Dirty Money ft. Usher "Looking For Love" Video Premiere

"Looking For Love", featuring Usher, is the latest single from Dirty Money's Last Train To Paris album. There isn't much of the girls in this one... in fact, this most recent in a line of Colin Tilley-directed videos for Filthy Coupons (LMAO couldn't resist... I heard that somewhere) could easily be mistaken for an Usher video, not that I'm complaining. Of course, it looks just like the other Dirty Money videos, but man, do I love that LTTP LP!

Adele has remained the girl running the world for the past two weeks on both the Billboard 200 album chart (21) & Hot 100 singles chart ("Rolling In The Deep"), where last week, Usher debuted alongside Enrique Iglesias & Lil' Wayne at #18 with "Dirty Dancer" & Jordin Sparks' "I Am Woman" started at #82. On the Hot 100 this week, Nicole Scherzinger's 50 Cent-assisted "Right There" enters at #77, while Rihanna debuts at #80 with "California King Bed".

A pre-recorded performance from Britney Spears of "Big Fat Bass" off Femme Fatale aired earlier this week on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Keke Wyatt "Unbelievable" Cover & Tracklisting

Keke Wyatt is set to release her third album Unbelievable on June 14th. I was introduced to this incredibly talented vocalist after the release of her second album Who Knew? last year (following a 9-year wait between her first two albums due to a pair of shelved albums in the in-between time), so lucky me that she's already releasing another. Check out the tracklisting for Unbelievable below:

1. Light Me Up
2. Unbelievable
3. Mirror (ft. Kelly Price & Tweet)
4. Love Under New Management
5. Tap Out
6. Saturday Love (ft. Ruben Studdard)
7. Miss Your Plane
8. Enough
9. Travel The World (Love Uses Time)
10. Tears In Heaven
11. His Eye Is On The Sparrow

A collaboration with Kelly Price! Score!! Granted, it's on what was formerly a Queen Project song, but whatever. Take what we can get. And! "His Eye Is On The Sparrow"! Acapella! It's gonna be incredible, TRUST me. Or don't. (Your eardrums will thank you.)

Nicole Scherzinger & 50 Cent Perform "Right There" On Ellen + More

Nicole Scherzinger stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show recently to perform her first single "Right There" off Killer Love (August 16th) & brought 50 Cent along (ya know, Nicole, you don't have to...). Also, excellent news: Nicole has replaced Cheryl Cole as a judge on the US version of The X Factor! My guess is something to do with Dannii Minogue leaving The X Factor UK... (not that it matters!)

With regards to her solo project, Dawn Richard has announced her intentions to put out a trilogy of releases. The conceptual trio will kick off with GoldenHeart in late 2011/early 2012 & is set to include an intro entitled "Hollywood Story" as well as a D'Mile (Jennifer Lopez's Love?) production called "Running From Sane". BlackHeart & RedemptionHeart will follow. Sounds interesting. Most likely drawn-out unfortunately, but interesting. Alicia Keys accompanied Maya Angelou on piano as she recited an original poem in honor of the woman of the hour as part of the final episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show before singing a few bars of her own "Superwoman". A very sweet moment indeed.

Brian McKnight "Fall 5.0" Video Premiere

"Fall 5.0" is the first single off Brian McKnight's upcoming album Just Me (July 12th). The video's stupid, but I would actually like the song if it weren't autotuned. I mean, this is the man who held his own in a duet with Mariah Carey ("Whenever You Call", my all-time favorite of her ballads) for crying out loud! Since Just Me is a 10-track studio album accompanied by a concert though, it still might be worth checking out.

Jennifer Hudson Performs "I Remember Me" On Music Fair + More

The 2011 Billboard Music Awards Recap

Beyonce "Run The World (Girls)"

Nicki Minaj & Britney Spears - Medley

Rihanna & Britney Spears "S&M (Remix)"

Mary J. Blige & Lil' Wayne "Someone To Love Me (Naked)"

OneRepublic & Far East Movement - Medley

The Black-Eyed Peas - Medley

The Billboard Music Awards made their triumphant return by honoring Beyonce, who also gave the night's best performance, with the Millennium Award. The ever-robotic Britney Spears opened the show with Rihanna & effectively closed it by performing the "Till The World Ends" remix with Nicki Minaj following the latter's own bubbly performance of "Super Bass". Rihanna also walked away with the Top Female Artist & Top Radio Songs Artist awards as well as the trophy for Top Rap Song for "Love The Way You Lie" with Eminem. Mary J. Blige performed my JAM, while OneRepublic, with "Good Life", kicked off a joint performance with Far East Movement, which Ryan Tedder joined afterwards to perform their collaboration "Rocketeer" before they took over. In addition, The Black-Eyed Peas performed a medley of "Just Can't Get Enough" & "I Gotta Feeling" (with hints of "Boom Boom Pow" & "Don't Stop The Party" thrown in), & received the award for Top Duo/Group. Non-attendee (as far as I can tell) Usher picked up three awards: Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Album for Raymond Vs. Raymond, & Top R&B Song for "OMG". To check out all the winners, click HERE.

Commentary #5: The American Idol Top 40

1. Vonzell Solomon (Season 4, 3rd Place) Vonzell has the perfect voice: An amazing range, a gorgeous tone, & polished to perfection. She's also gorgeous herself--both inside & out, making her the perfect package! I honestly can't think of a worse crime the industry has committed than Vonzell not being signed to a major label.

Single: Dirt Bag

2. David Archuleta (Season 7, Runner-up) My favorite male contestant, David's beautiful voice resulted in some of the best performances on the Idol stage & post-Idol material ever. Simple as that.

Album: The Other Side Of Down

3. Jennifer Hudson (Season 3, 7th Place) Famously robbed during Idol's third season, there was no way Jennifer's talent was going to go to waste, as evidenced by her Oscar-winning, Grammy-winning comeback. Her vocal chops rival those of the legends that came before & inspired her.

4. Jordin Sparks (Season 6, Winner) My favorite Idol winner, the sweet, gorgeous Jordin doesn't even know how to hit a bum note. She delivered with her incredible voice not only during her Idol run, but also throughout her post-Idol career.

5. Adam Lambert (Season 8, Runner-up) Adam single-handedly saved the eighth season of Idol with his brilliant collection of performances. What can I say that he doesn't in the above performance? He's phenomenal!

6. Kelly Clarkson (Season 1, Winner) Of course she was a standout on Idol, but Kelly's outstanding post-Idol career both solidified her status as one of our generation's greatest talents & gave the show the credibility it needed to stay on top for so long.

7. Syesha Mercado (Season 7, 3rd Place) Syesha was another season seven contestant that never really got the credit she deserved from the judges, but performances like the one above kept me excited throughout the season.

8. Jacob Lusk (Season 10, 5th Place) Jacob has a jaw-dropping range & a beautiful tone, & despite his nerves getting the best of him toward the end of the season, he is fully capable of greatness.

9. Carly Smithson (Season 7, 6th Place) Simon never gave Carly a break while she was on the show, but that didn't stop the vocal powerhouse from following her dream of fronting a rock band.

Album: Tear The World Down (We Are The Fallen)

10. Fantasia (Season 3, Winner) Fantasia's incredible talent & charisma won her the title in 2004 & that led to a successful recording career, but in case you've forgotten just how incredible Fantasia can sound when she performs since she tends to go--in the best possible way--a little crazy these days, watch her make Idol history above with one of the show's best performances ever.

Album: Back To Me

11. Pia Toscano (Season 10, 9th Place) Without a doubt, the biggest shock elimination in Idol history. Pia can sing her face off & has a promising career ahead of her!

12. Melinda Doolittle (Season 6, 3rd Place) Melinda is probably the most polished contestant Idol has ever seen. She delivered week after week & deserved to find more success post-Idol than she has.

13. LaToya London (Season 3, 4th Place) One of the three season three divas, it's a shame LaToya hasn't found the level of success her competitors have. (Maybe she will with her new venture Urban Punk!) Skip to the 3:50 mark above to watch what is quite possibly the best exit performance in Idol history.

Album: Love & Life

14. Elliott Yamin (Season 5, 3rd Place) Elliott's soulful voice charmed many back in 2006--& it still does today. As his recording career progresses, Elliott just keeps getting better!

Album: Fight For Love

15. Paris Bennett (Season 5, 5th Place) Paris was born with a unique talent that many grew fond of during her Idol run. Unfortunately, she has yet to truly realize her talent post-Idol.

Album: Princess P

16. Anwar Robinson (Season 4, 7th Place) Anwar's voice was so big, he didn't even know what to do with it. He's certainly an incredible talent though.

Album: Everything

17. Carrie Underwood (Season 4, Winner)

Album: Play On

18. LaKisha Jones (Season 6, 4th Place) LaKisha's powerful, yet unpolished voice was impressive enough during the competitive sixth season of Idol to take her far. Her post-Idol debut wasn't too shabby either.

Album: So Glad I'm Me

19. Katharine McPhee (Season 5, Runner-up) Katharine had her fair share of showstopping performances during her run on Idol, but it wasn't until after the show was over that I really took much notice of her. Not only was her self-titled debut album right up my alley, but she still has a promising career ahead of her!

Album: Unbroken

20. Mandisa (Season 5, 9th Place) Despite such an early elimination, Mandisa has gone on to enjoy quite a successful recording career in the Christian genre.

Album: What If We Were Real

21. Tamyra Gray (Season 1, 4th Place)

Album: The Dreamer

22. Ruben Studdard (Season 2, Winner)

Album: Love IS

23. Rickey Smith (Season 2, 8th Place) With his Brian McKnight-esque vocals & upbeat personality, Rickey was one of my favorites during Idol's second season.

24. Stephanie Edwards (Season 6, 11th Place) Talented as she may be, considering she was up against the likes of Jordin Sparks, Melinda Doolittle, & LaKisha Jones, poor Stephanie picked the wrong season to audition.

Single: The Wind

25. George Huff (Season 3, 5th Place) The last male standing of his season, George released a pair of solid gospel albums post-Idol. It appears that didn't go as well for his as it should have, as he's now a background singer for Jennifer Hudson, but the two of them were friends back in their Idol days, so it's cool that J-Hud didn't forget about him now that she's a big star.

Album: George Huff

26. Kimberley Locke (Season 2, 3rd Place)

Album: Based On A True Story

27. Nikko Smith (Season 4, 9th Place)

Album: Revolution

28. Karen Rodriguez (Season 10, 12th Place) Her chops may have pailed in comparison to her friend & fellow contestant Pia's, but I still don't think Karen got the proper chance to shine before being eliminated.

29. Chris Daughtry (Season 5, 4th Place)

Album: Leave This Town (Daughtry)

30. Camile Velasco (Season 3, 9th Place) Camile didn't make it onto many people's radars, but she caught my attention. I wish they hadn't dropped her before she was able to release an album, but Camile released a cover of "Hangin' On" on Universal Motown that I love.

Single: Guava Jelly

31. Kris Allen (Season 8, Winner) Though not worthy of winning by a long shot, Kris was the second-best contestant of his season.

Album: Kris Allen

32. Trenyce (Season 2, 5th Place)

33. Kimberly Caldwell (Season 2, 7th Place) Kimberly was pleasant enough way back in 2003, but with the release of her debut album just this year, she proved her Idol run was no fluke.

Album: Without Regret

34. Lisa Tucker (Season 5, 10th Place) Lisa was the definition of potential. She had a big voice, but she audition much too young.

35. Jason Castro (Season 7, 4th Place) Unfortunately, I haven't really been able to get into his music post-Idol, as his recording voice sounds weird to me, but it was performances like these that took him so far in the competition.

Album: Who I Am

36. Lil Rounds (Season 8, 7th Place) She fizzled out after making the top 12, but Lil was promising with this semi-final performance.

37. Brandon Rogers (Season 6, 12th Place)

Album: Automatic

38. Christina Christian (Season 1, 6th Place) Otherwise not a memorable contestant for me, this particular performance from Christina was a season standout.

39. Nadia Turner (Season 4, 8th Place)

Single: Standing On Love

40. Mikalah Gordon (Season 4, 11th Place) Though a somewhat talented singer, it was Mikalah's personality that helped her stand out from the crowd.

Album Review: Jennifer Lopez "Love?"

It's been a long time coming for Jennifer Lopez's new album Love? After releasing her underrated album Brave four years ago, J.Lo took a break to start a family & when she returned to the music scene, a failed single led to her getting dropped from her label. Never one to stay down, Jennifer signed a new deal, landed a judging gig on none other than American Idol, & before she knew it, she was back on top! The delay may have been a blessing in disguise though because the extra polishing time allowed for Jenny to find a sound that really works for her on Love?

1. "On The Floor" (ft. Pitbull): This one may have been an instant smash, but it was a grower for me. Either way, I love it now! The louder, the better. :) 5/5

2. "Good Hit": Now THIS one I've always loved! The attitude is straight fire. 5/5

3. "I'm Into You" (ft. Lil' Wayne): Another one I've gone from liking to loving. This album will do that to you! (Of course, the video for this song in particular didn't hurt either...) 4.5/5

4. "(What Is) Love?": I've been a big fan of this Wynter Gordon-penned track since it was featured on the soundtrack to "The Back-Up Plan" last year. The slower the tempo, the lower the quality always seems like it's been for Jennifer, but this is one solid midtempo! 5/5

5. "Run The World": I don't remember liking this song so much when it leaked featuring a verse from Rick Ross back when. I'm still not in love with the chorus, but the rest of the song makes up for it plenty. 4.5/5

6. "Papi": Jenny's got a hit waiting to happen right here. RedOne really knows how to make her sound good! 4.5/5

7. "Until It Beats No More": The studio version of this song is much better than it had any business being. She sounds great..! 4.5/5

8. "One Love": Even though this one's been leaked for quite a while now, I didn't actually listen to the lyrics until I got the album &, well, This Is Me... Then needs to take notes cause this is how you do a personal song that people actually wanna listen to. 4.5/5

9. "Invading My Mind": In my mind, undoubtably her best collabo with RedOne. It's retro goodness that had me groovin' from the first listen! 5/5

10. "Villain": Blame my Tricky Stewart obsession for this one if you wish, but to quote one of her fellow Idol judges, "we got a hot one right here!" 4.5/5

11. "Starting Over": Danja did his thing on this track! I actually didn't much care for the leaked version of this, but the album version is on-point. 4.5/5

12. "Hypnotico": Considering this has been released as a single by someone else already, it's understandable that it's a bonus track. Don't think that takes away from its quality though because Jennifer is in her (new) element here. 4.5/5

The party continues on the deluxe edition with the Wynter Gordon composition "Everybody's Girl", the RedOne production "Charge Me Up", the Tricky Stewart-produced final version of "Take Care", & "Ven A Bailar", the Spanish version of "On The Floor" that will NOT get out of your head! I can't really express enough how well the RedOne sound works for J.Lo. A lot of people may have jumped on the bandwagon, but their tracks do end up sounding re-done... meanwhile, Jennifer brings something fresh to his production, making them the perfect match! Plus, Tricky & Dream stepped up their game from "Louboutins" for the material that made the final cut of Love? J.Lo really delivered with Love?, creating a collection of songs--all solid--that are just alike enough, but not too much so, that you instantly become addicted. In fact, I don't ever remember liking an entire album from her as much as this one.

Rating: 4.5/5 Stars

NBC has given Smash, a new musical drama starring Katharine McPhee & Debra Messing, a midseason pick-up. Check out a trailer for Smash above, which suggests that Kat will receive a TON of screen time--both acting & singing--when the show begins airing on Mondays at 10/9c this coming winter. Other than the fact that this toootally seems like a movie plot, so I have no idea how they're going to stretch it out into a TV series, this looks good--& GREAT for Katharine! Though I must say... She finished runner-up on American Idol. She was signed to & released an album on the major label RCA. She was in the movie "The House Bunny" & even guest-starred on the TV show Community... & they're 'introducing' her? To the kind of audience that would watch a music-centric TV show?! -_-
